Sotogrande
Founded in 1964 this course has a very special design. Its beauty is enhanced
by the varied vegetation. Ranked among the top 100 in the world and the top
10 in Europe. The fairways are lined with oak, eucalyptus, pine, cork and
palm trees.

Sotogrande Golf Club, Sotogrande, Cadiz, Spain
18 Holes; Length: 6,341 Yds; Par 72
Sotogrande was the first European course to be designed by Robert Trent Jones
and is ranked among the top 100 courses in the world and one of the top10
in Europe. Sotogrande has well established vegetation with pine, cork oaks,
eucalyptus and palm trees. Water hazards play an important role here, affecting
holes 12, 13 and 14 and 16, 17 and 18. The course is deceivingly difficult
due to the number of water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Most
greens are elevated.
An old master among clubs on the coast, Royal Sotogrande opened in 1964, and
is still one of Continental Europe's top ten courses. As recognition during
its thirtieth year, Sotogrande was awarded the 'Royal' prefix. Designed by
Robert Trent Jones, Sotogrande's layout has well-established vegetation with
pine, cork oaks, eucalyptus and palm trees.
Los Naranjos
The course has two contrasting nines. The first nine is more hilly with wide
fairways, gentle slopes, trees and water providing natural hazards. The back
nine is mainly flat but is tighter as it winds its way through the beautiful
orange groves.

Los Naranjos Golf Club, Nueva, Andalucía, Spain
18 Holes; Length: 6,541 Yds; Par 72
Los Naranjos Golf Club is located in the middle of the "Golf Valley of
Nueva Andalucía", north of Puerto Banús. The course has
two contrasting halves. One of the most interesting features of Los Naranjos,
is the significant difference between the front and the back nine - it’s
like playing two different courses! The first nine holes are set out on broad,
sweeping fairways, with gentle slopes and with trees and water providing the
natural hazards. After ninth hole the landscape becomes flatter, and here You
will find the remains of the orange grove that has lent the course its name.Maximum
use has been made of these orange trees to screen the holes in their own settings,
while retaining all the natural beauty.
Mr Robert Trent designed the course almost 20 years ago. He still considers
it one of his best!
The front nine is more hilly but with quite wide sweeping fairways gentle slopes,
trees and water providing the natural hazards. The back nine is mainly flat
but tighter as it weaves its way through the beautiful orange groves. Strategically
placed fairway bunkers and water hazards contribute to making it one of the
toughest courses on the Costa
Mijas
Mijas Golf boasts two 18 hole courses. Los Lagos is mainly flat with wide fairways
and fast greens. Los Olivos course has an abundance of olive trees. The contoured
greens are generous but well surrounded by bunkers.

Mijas Golf Club, Fuengirola, Malaga, Spain
Los Logos Course
18 Holes; Length: 6,547 Yds; Par 72
Mijas Golf has two Robert Trent Jones designed courses and is one of southern
Spain's most popular clubs, with both resident and visiting golfers. Los
Lagos, the original course built in the mid-1970s, is a flat, long championship
course with waterhazards, large greens and an extravagant application of
vast bunkers. Enjoyable for long hitters but also accommodating to those
with a slice. Wide fairways with little rough means Mijas has become the
most successful commercial course on the Costa del Golf.
Los Olivos Course
18 Holes; Length: 6,542 Yds; Par 72
In many ways, Los Olivos represents the antithesis of Los Lagos. It is younger
(1984) and shorter than its sister course, with many raised greens. There
is less water, the fairways are narrower, there are more trees and generally
it is more undulating. This course favors the 'precision' hitter rather than
the 'big' hitter. The tougher challenge of Los Olivos is reflected in the
narrow fairways and small elevated greens.
Rio Real
Situated in a very nice valley with sea views. The Real River crosses the course
several times. With its streams and ravines it is not an easy course to master.

Rio Real Golf Club, Marbella, Malaga, Spain
18 Holes; Length: 6,729 Yds; Par 72
Rio Real Golf Club is set in a valley between the Mediterranean and the mountains,
the Real river crosses the course several times. Rio Real, with its streams,
ravines and hilly terrain is not an easy course to master. Designed by Spain's
top architect Javier Arana, Rio Real Golf Course opened in 1965. It follows
a gradual incline towards the sea but is otherwise flat. Golf here is a very
pleasant experience, offering wonderful views, well established trees and
much appreciated shade while the river intersects the course at various points.
One of the oldest clubs on the Costa del Sol, Rio Real is situated in a very
picturesque valley with sea views crossed by the Rio Real river that gave the
course its name. It is conveniently located only two miles from Marbella.
La Quinta
Situated in “The Golf Valley” commands excellent views of the mountains
and the Marbella coastline. Consists of three 9 hole courses. Demanding course
with narrow fairways and fast elevated greens.

La Quinta Golf & Country Club, Nueva Andalucia, Marbella, Málaga
27 Holes; Length: 6,515 Yds; Par 72
La Quinta Golf Course is located in a valley and kept in immaculate condition
with lush green fairways. The practise facilities include a large driving
range with capacity for 100 golfers with three different tee areas and a
chipping area with three greens and bunkers. The golf academy is run by Manuel
Pinero, course designer the course, and Antonio Carcía Garrido.
Situated in what is known as 'The Golf Valley', northeast of San Pedro de Alcántara,
this course commands the best panoramic views of the mountains and Marbella
coastline. La Quinta has three combinable courses (27 holes). Although apparently
straightforward, it is, in fact, very demanding due to the design of the fairways
and the excellent quality of the greens.
The course consists of 3 loops of 9 holes (Guadaiza, San Pedro and Ronda) and
a successful Golf Academy with separate practice areas. Former Ryder Cup player
and World Champion Manuel Piñero, who also designed the course, together
with Antonio Carcía Garrido, supervise the Academy.
La Quinta plays relatively short but it's heavily undulated with small fairways
and therefor it is essential to be accurate from the tee. Stunning panoramic
views over the Golf Valley and the sea will be yours on the Ronda Course.
Santa Maria
Set in 1000 acres of spectacular wooded valley this course traces the contours
of the valley and offers distracting views over the Mediterranean. Excellent
practice facilities. Noted for being the friendliest club in the Costa.
Santa María Golf & Country Club

Santa Maria Golf Club, Marbella, Malaga, Spain
18 Holes; Length: 5,813 Yds; Par 72
Santa Maria Golf Course traces the contours of a valley and offers distracting
views over the Mediterranean. Another design by Antonio Garcia Garrido, who
made the par 3 6th hole especially challenging. It is located on the highest
point of the course, before you need to tackle a formidable tee shot down
towards the guarded green some 180 metres away.
Noted for being the friendliest club of the Costa, Santa Maria has an impressive
number of club facilities and an active social and golfing calendar. Set in
1000 acres of spectacular wooded valley, the course follows the river bed and
offers distracting views of the Mediterranean. Excellent practice facilities.
Alcaidesa
Just 10 mins drive from Gibraltar and opened in 1992. It offers spectacular
views of the Mediterranean, the Rock of Gibraltar and the Atlas mountains.
A tough challenge especially in the wind. It has 4 beach side holes.

Alcaidesa Links Golf Course, La Línea, Cádiz
18 Holes; Length: 7,138 Yds; Par 72
Alcaidesa, the western most Links Golf Course on the Costa Del Sol is just
10 minutes drive from Gibraltar. It offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean,
the Rock of Gibraltar and the Atlas mountains. The hilly par 71 course incorporates
a number of challenging holes including four beachside holes. It's large
undulating bunkers, wild gorse and heather is reminiscent of the Scottish
courses. A great course with some stunning views of Gibraltar, it does vary
day to day depending on the wind direction, but their are some great par
threes and a superb par 5 from an elevated tee. A tough challenge - especially
in the wind!
Alcaidesa Links Golf Club, which opened in 1992, is an experience that cannot
be found anywhere else in Spain. It is the closest you will come to a pure
links layout. The course has benefited from an extensive program of remodeling,
in which fairways were improved and widened and new tees and cart tracks were
built. The result is a much more forgiving layout that is acceptable for golfers
of all abilities. It has magnificent views over the Mediterranean and the Rock
of Gibraltar.
