Alcossebre Alcoceber - which nudges Las Fuentes is a quiet unspoilt authentic Spanish town which lies 1hr north of Valencia and 2 hrs south of Barcelona on the Costa del Azahar or (Orange Blossom Coast).

With 5 wonderful sandy beaches (Blue Flag) and secluded secret sandy coves, its an area coveted by Spanish families and romantics savouring the local food, wine and the laid back atmosphere. Plenty of sea and sports are available, fishing, go carting, bikes can be hired and there are 2 golf courses are nearby.

With space for 300 moorings the Marina is the place to be seen with excellent shops, restaurants and ice cream parlours and if you are self-catering an abundance of food shops and a hypermarket nearby.

Inland and adjacent to Alcossebre, the Sierra d'Irta Natural Park with the Castell de Xivert protects the town. And with other National Parks to explore, the Maestrazgo mountains (land of the giants) is where you can find small medieval villages which have not changed for centuries – the area is truly a walkers’ paradise.

Steeped in history don’t miss the seaside fortified town of Peniscola with its Knights Templar castle which was the setting for the film El Cid and was where Hannibal and the heretic Pope Papa Luna once lived. Nearby is the ancient fortress town of Morella and the Roman city of Tarragonna . Valencia is easy to reach by train or car and don’t miss the amazing modern architecture of the Museum of Arts & Sciences.

Benicassim has an Aqua Park and the Universal Studios Theme Park Port Aventura is just 45 mins drive away to the north.
