La Palma - guide to La Palma Spain
La Palma is one of the least known Canary
Islands and is one of the smaller Canary Islands. There's no mass-tourism here. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this friendly, green island. Santa Cruz de La Palma is the capital of the island and is situated on the east coast close to the airport.
An island of contrasts: mountains and beaches, volcanoes and forests. Summer and winter ideal for sun, walking and hiking holidays or just too really get away from it all.
There are hotels on the coast and many self-catering cottages away from it all. La Palma is ideal for tourists seeking peace and quiet, beautiful scenery and natural beauty.
La Palma is, according to many people, the most beautiful Canary Island, unspoilt by tourism. The island has many surprisingly different areas of natural beauty and enjoys a stable climate: pleasant temperatures in all seasons, warm in the winter, not too hot in the summer.
There are two beach resorts, one on the east coast, south of Santa Cruz at Los Cancajos, and on the west coast at Puerto Naos. Puerto Naos gets the most sunshine and there are quieter beaches, including one naturist beach, located to the south of the town.
